Its businesses mix commercial offices with warehouse and production space, and many move large design and print files every day. Listonics builds the networks and storage for that kind of work and supports them on site. ## Why large files change the design Production and print businesses stress IT in a different place from most offices. The desk count is modest, but the files are large: layered artwork, high-resolution images and print-ready PDFs that are opened, saved and sent many times a day. A network and storage set up for spreadsheets turns every save into a wait, and staff learn to keep copies on their own machines, which is where version confusion and lost work begin. The fix is rarely exotic. Wired connections to the design and pre-press workstations, a switch that is not the bottleneck, and shared storage sized and configured for large files, with earlier versions kept so an overwritten file can be recovered. Backups of that storage are tested by restoring a real file, not by checking that a job reported success. Many units here also have a production or warehouse side with printers, finishing equipment and stock. That equipment often runs on older software that cannot be updated, so it belongs on its own network segment where it can reach what it needs and nothing else. ## What a production or print business needs - Fast wired connections for design and pre-press workstations that move large files all day. - Shared storage sized for artwork and print files, with earlier versions kept and backups tested. - Print and production equipment on its own network segment, apart from office laptops. - The office and the warehouse or production floor covered by one planned network. - Microsoft 365 with MFA, and secure access for staff working from home or another site. ## What slows production firms down - Artwork that takes minutes to open from the shared drive because the path to the storage runs over Wi-Fi. - Designers keeping their own copies on laptops, so nobody is sure which version went to print. - Storage running out without warning because it was sized for documents rather than images. - Production equipment on old, unpatched software sitting on the same network as office laptops. ## How we work with Dubai Production City offices Work in Dubai Production City starts with how files move. We look at where artwork is created, where it is stored, how it reaches the production floor or the printer, and how it is sent to clients, because that path decides the network and the storage, not the desk count. Access to the building is arranged with your facility team in advance. Projects are quoted as a fixed scope, and support afterwards is a fixed monthly fee with response times in the agreement. ## What a Dubai Production City project costs A Dubai Production City project is scoped from how files actually move through the business, plus a look at the storage, the switch and the cabling. Projects are quoted as a fixed scope, Listonics projects run from AED 2,500 to AED 30,000 depending on requirement, with wired connections and storage for a small studio toward the lower end and a full office and production-floor network toward the upper. Support is a fixed monthly fee with response times in the agreement; [what an IT AMC in Dubai covers](https://listonics.com/it-amc-dubai/) sets out what to check in one. ## Frequently asked questions ### Do you provide on-site IT support in Dubai Production City? Yes. Engineers work on site across Dubai, including Dubai Production City, for installations, scheduled visits and urgent faults, with remote support in between. Response times are written into the agreement rather than promised by distance. ### Our print files take ages to open from the server. What usually causes it? Most often the path rather than the computer: a shared drive reached over Wi-Fi, an old switch, or storage sized for documents rather than artwork. Measuring the path from workstation to storage shows which it is, and the fix is usually wired connections and storage suited to large files rather than new computers. ### Should our print files live in the cloud or on a server in the office? It depends on file sizes, how many people open the same files, and your internet line. Very large files opened all day are often faster on shared storage in the office, backed up to the cloud. Smaller files shared with people outside the office suit the cloud. We measure before recommending either, and the answer is often a mix. ### Related pages [NAS, Storage & Backup](https://listonics.com/services/nas-storage-and-backup/) (Backup): Your data, recoverable [Network & Wi-Fi Installation](https://listonics.com/services/network-and-wifi/) (Network): Fast, secure, everywhere [Managed IT Services & AMC](https://listonics.com/services/managed-it-support/) (Support): Someone always on call [IT Support Dubai](https://listonics.com/it-support-dubai/) (Guide): IT Support Dubai [IT AMC Dubai](https://listonics.com/it-amc-dubai/) (Guide): IT AMC Dubai: annual maintenance contracts Written by [Srinivasan Ramachandran](https://listonics.com/about/#author), Founder, Listonics · Last reviewed October 30, 2026 ### Talk to an engineer On-site across Dubai Production City and the rest of Dubai; remote support UAE-wide.
